Venice
One of the world's most unusual and certainly most interesting cities. I've only
been there once, about 30 years ago, but it's high on the list for a return trip.
A typical view of Venice in this lovely old postcard from 1905.
Two similar views of San Marco. The card on the left was posted in 1905 - the writer comments on the number of pigeons. That on the right appears to be from the 1930s.
An undated postcard of the Grand Hotel.
Santa Maria della Salute.
A 1905 postcard of the Palazzo Ducale.
The Campo San Giovani e Paolo. The statue is a monument to Colleoni.
The Bridge of Sighs - a postcard which was mailed in 1904.
Another view of Santa Maria della Salute.
No date for this postcard of the city.
A lovely old card of the Ponte di Rialto.
Rio delle Maravegie.
Rio S Barnaba.
Rio Contarini.
Another postcard of the Colleoni Monument.
A corner of the Doge's Palace.
Traghetto.
Panorama del Molo.
A super, high quality aerial view of the city.
Another very high-quality image from the 1930s.
