Sussex is a county in south-east England, lying on the English Channel coast.
The county is divided into two for administrative purposes, viz East Sussex
and West Sussex. Lewes is the county town of East Sussex, Chichester of
West Sussex. Brighton and Hove are treated as a separate unity authority,
and make up the largest city in the historic county.
This page contains postcards of towns and villages in the county for which
we have as yet insufficient images to justify separate pages. Follow the
links for old postcards of
Brighton, Eastbourne, Littlehampton and Worthing.

Did You Know.................that it was only in 1929 that the suffix "Regis" was added to the town's name ?
King George V bestowed the title at Bognor's request. It is known that he was not very fond of the place,
and there is a legend that his final words, when being told that he would soon be well enough to revisit the
town, were "Bugger Bognor" !
