| Steubenville, Ohio, USA |
| Steubenville is a city on the Ohio River in Jefferson County, Ohio, with a population (in 2000) of about 20,000. The city administration has had a chequered history with the police department being accused of using excessive force, and a current struggle being waged to try to obtain refunds for what were deemed by the courts to be illegal speeding tickets, with the city apparently avoiding paying up ! The major industry in Steubenville has been steel, although this has suffered setbacks in recent years. We would like to thank the lady from Columbus - who wishes to remain anonymous - who has emailed us images of a large number of old postcards of Steubenville, most of which will appear here soon. |
