Sopot, Poland
Sopot is a small Polish town situated on the Baltic Sea coast between Gdańsk and Gdynia. The Germans, who were the majority of Sopot’s community in the first half of the last century, used the name Zoppot. The town survived the war without any major damage, although during the fighting in March 1945 Sopot lost the Spa House, the casino building and beautiful hotels along the main walk.

We originally asked for help with identifying this building, and must thank both Darek Lipka and JJ from Finland who, within a few days of each other, told us that it is the Balneological Sanatorium which was built in 1903/4 and is still in operation today.
