The Rhododendron Dell.
"Planned by George III, in 1770, this lovely walk was made by soldiers of the
guard from the Royal Palace. The Rhododendrons date from 1848." A postcard
from 1907.

Kew Gardens - the Rockery.
What appears to be a 1930s postcard of the statue of Aphrodite in Richmond
Terrace Gardens. If I remember correctly, this statue was replaced in the 1950s
with another more modern sculpture, nicknamed "Bulbous Bessie", which
caused quite a stir at the time - but i could be wrong ! Someone please correct
me !!
