| Prague, Czech Republic |

| Formerly the capital city of Czechoslovakia, Prague became the capital of the Czech Republic after the country divided into two states on 1 January 1993. It lies on the River Vltava in central Bohemia, and has a population (2009) of 1.24 million. The historic centre of the city makes it one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations. |
