Portland is the largest city in the U.S. state of Maine and is the state's cultural, social, and economic capital,
with a population (2007) of about 63,000. The city has an Old Port district along the Harbour, at the mouth of
the Fore River and part of Casco Bay. Portland Head Light is located on nearby Cape Elizabeth and marks the
entrance to the Harbor.
