Worcester College, in its current form, was founded only in 1714.
However, on the south side of the college is a row of mediaeval
cottages which are among the oldest in Oxford and which are the
surviving buildings of Gloucester College, founded in 1283,  which
preceded Worcester.

The Cottages.
Amongst Oxford students, Worcester is best
known for its Ball. Every three years, in June,
about a thousand ball-goers attend the
"Worcester College Commemoration Ball"
which is held in the college grounds in,
lasting from 6pm until 6am.
Notable former students include:
Richard Adams : Alastair Burnet : Alastair
Morton : Rupert Murdoch : Woodrow Wyatt -
and of course many more !
Worcester is fortunate in being close to the
centre of Oxford. In the eighteenth century it
was on the edge of the much smaller city and
now benefits from its desirable location,
having sports fields and gardens in a very
convenient spot, thus attracting many visitors.
