An unused and thus undated view of Trinity from the early years of the 20th Century.
Trinity College, founded in 1555, is one of the smallest of
Oxford's Colleges with around 400 graduate and under
graduate students. Nevertheless, it has extensive and very
attractive buildings and gardens in the city centre, near to the
Bodleian Library. Trinity stands on the site of Durham College
which was abolished during the Protestant Reformation
Notable Alumni include Joyce Cary, Author; Anthony Crosland, Labour MP; Miles Kington,
journalist and broadcaster; Walter Savage Landor, writer and poet; Norris and Ross McWhirter;
Cardinal Newman; Lord North, British Prime Minister; William Pitt the Elder; Sir Arthur
Quiller-Couch, author; Terence Rattigan, dramatist, and of course many others. If you would
like to recommend someone to add to this list, please do so !
