Newcastle upon Tyne
Search this Site !
Lying on the north bank of the River Tyne on the north-east coast of England, Newcastle was once a major
coal-mining (much of the coal being mined from under the North Sea) and ship-building city. These industries
declined during the latter half of the twentieth century and the city today is mainly a cultural and business
centre, particularly noted for its night-life, it's world-famous Newcastle Brown Ale and Newcastle United FC.
