Did You Know........that Tommy Steele, the rock 'n roll singer and actor, was born in Mason Street, Bermondsey, in 1936 ?
Not a Lot of People Know This ........but the film actor Michael Caine was born in Rotherhithe in 1933.

Dulwich, Toll Gate.
Did You Know........that several sources suggest that Elvis Presley paid a secret visit to London in 1958 to meet Tommy Steele. Tommy himself has confirmed this, saying that he showed Elvis round London (how did they not get recognised ?) but others dispute the visit. Officially Elvis only ever set foot in the UK once, at Prestwick Aiport in Scotland in 1960, where a plaque has since been installed to commemorate the earth-shattering event. If by some remote chance you are interested in this, start by clicking on Tommy Steele and take it from there.
