Not to be confused with the nearby Upton Park, West Ham Stadium was built in 1928 and was
initially used for Speedway racing and Greyhound Racing. A Football Team,
Thames Association
FC, was formed by the stadium owners but could not attract crowds and was dissolved in 1932.
Stock Car Racing was added in the 1950s but the stadium was sold in 1972 and demolished.
Housing was built on the site.
