| Class A4 Engine No 4492, "Dominion of New Zeland", pulling "The Coronation", possibly the premier train of the UK in the thirties. Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and consisting of eight coaches plus the streamlined observation car (in the summer months), the train went at over 100mph on several occasions and was once recorded at 109mph. The train was advertised to run from King's Cross to Edinburgh in six hours. |
