Postcards of the Past
Erotic - Lesbian
Even with the publication - and subsequent banning - of Radclyffe Hall's "The Well of Loneliness" in
1928, lesbianism remained very much a taboo subject in the first half of the 20th Century.  This did not
stop the production of a large number of postcards portraying women in "romantic" poses. Although
primarily of course aimed at the male market, they also appealed to many women.
