| Le Havre is a port in North-Western France on the right bank of the mouth of the river Seine on the English Channel. Much of the city was destroyed during allied air attacks in 1944, prior to the invasion of Normandy, so that most of our old postcards shows the port as it was before the bombing. Its current (2007) population is around 180,000. |
