In one of those shown in the picture (at that time the property of Robert Ingram) lodged Bishop Hooper the night before he was burnt at the stake in St. Mary's Square, Saturday, 9th February, 1555". This lovely old postcard was mailed in May 1919. |

| When I was in the Royal Navy in 1958, I used to pass through Gloucester twice a week - hitch-hiking from Pucklechurch to Stratford. I got to know the city centre quite well. As well as the cathedral, the docks provide an interesting historical area for visitors. |
