Chipping Campden,
Gloucestershire
Chipping Campden is a lovely little town situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, a dozen or so
miles to the south of Stratford. Its main attraction is the pretty and mostly unspoiled High
Street with plenty of shops, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs - always a pleasant afternoon
out ! For more information, click on this link -

High Street - an undated postcard, but there's not a lot of traffic !!
This is a nice old postcard, probably from the 1930s. It shows the Lygon Arms, an
old motor and a man with a horse - click on it for a closer view.
A 1935 postcard of the old Almshouses.
An undated postcard with some great old motors !
A super view of High Street from the Market Hall, probably from the late 1930s or
possibly just post WW2.

This card of William Greville's House was produced for the Old King's Arms
Pantry, probably in the 1960s.
A relatively modern view of the High Street, posted in 1989.

A 1951 view of the church and almshouses.
Another fairly modern postcard - 1960s ? - showing the High Street.
A lovely postcard of Yubberton produced by J Salmon Ltd from a water colour by W Carruthers. The card was mailed in January 1946.  My dad used to tell me how it
was the tradition in the village to sit a pig on the wall on Easter Monday to watch the band go by.
No date for this one, but no cars and it seems a horse has passed by recently !
