| Selwyn College was founded in 1882, and named after George Selwyn, the first Bishop of New Zealand and later Bishop of Lichfield. Six acres of farm land were bought from Corpus Christi College and now house the college buildings. In common with the other Cambridge Colleges, Selwyn only admitted men, but was one of the first to admit women, in 1976. |
