Cambridge lies about 50 miles NNE of London and is of course most
famous for its University. The older colleges form an integral part of the
town centre and whilst there are excellent shopping facilities and
everything else you would expect to find in a city of this size, it is
sometimes difficult to separate town and gown as you wander round.
There are very many beautiful old buildings and a town centre market as
well as a variety of pubs and other eating places - all in all an excellent
place to visit, as is demonstrated by the enormous number of tourists.
