bydgoszcz, poland
Bydgoszcz (German name Bromberg) is a city in northern Poland on the Brda and Vistula rivers. In 1772 it was annexed by the
Kingdom of Prussia. In 1807 Bydgoszcz became part of the Duchy of Warsaw and then, in 1815, it returned to Prussian rule
as capital of Bromberg district. After 1871 the city was part of the German Empire's Province of Posen. After WW1,
Bydgoszcz was returned to Poland. During World War II, Bydgoszcz was occupied by Nazi Germany. In 1945 it was liberated
and once more returned to Poland.
