| Amsterdam, The Netherlands |

| Amsterdam is the capital and largest city of the Netherlands, although the seat of government is at the Hague. It is part of the province of North-Holland and lies in the northwest of the country. The river Amstel ends in the city center and is connnected to the Dutch canal system. Amsterdam is only 2 meters above sea level, and the surrounding land is flat as it is formed of large polders. |
