Stratford-upon-Avon
Aerial Views
Three aerial views of the Welcombe Hotel - "a most delightful Country Hotel".  All three  postcards are unused and undated.
This great view of the town is dated 1957.
A super view of the old theatre. This postcard was mailed in 1925, not long before
the theatre was destroyed by fire - click
here to see postcards of the fire.
This postcard was mailed in the 1940s - the message on the reverse refers to "fly bombs" - and shows Wood Street and
Bridge Street on the left, and Ely Street and Sheep Street on the right. The theatre, however, appears to be the old building,
which would date the card from the 1920s.
Two versions of the same view. The colour (hand-tinted ?)  view was mailed in August 1953.
An excellent view of the town, with the Fountain in the centre (almost), Rother Street leading to the bottom right and Greenhill Street to the bottom left.
